Understanding risk warnings

Why Aethelix asks you to review token risks, what the warnings mean, and your options when buying or selling.

Why does Aethelix show a warning?

Aethelix shows a risk review before a buy when available research identifies a concern, a token is under review, or risk information is missing or outdated. The card gives you a chance to read the concern and decide whether to continue.

Read the explanation under What to know and any warning codes shown. A token can have more than one finding, and its warnings can change as conditions or available information change.

A warning is research context

A listing, high Safety score, or absence of a warning does not certify that a token is safe. Warnings cannot identify every risk, predict returns, or guarantee that you can sell later. You can lose the full amount you trade.

What warnings might I see?

Token risk warning
Current findings about the token, its holders, liquidity, controls, or trading activity. The card explains the concern relevant to that token.
Strong risk warning
A serious trading-risk finding or a token placed under review by Aethelix. This requires your explicit acknowledgement before buying; it does not mean Aethelix has permanently prohibited the buy.
Risk information unavailable/outdated
Risk information is missing, cannot currently be obtained, or is too old to rely on as current. Aethelix is not treating the token as safe. You may acknowledge the uncertainty and continue.

Depending on the token and available findings, the explanation may concern:

  • Token controls: an active mint authority can change supply; an active freeze authority may freeze token accounts. Other token controls may create trading or custody risks.
  • Liquidity: liquidity may be critically low, declining, drained, or not confirmed as protected. Trades may have severe price impact or fail.
  • Holder concentration: a small number of wallets may hold a large share of supply, increasing concentration and exit risk.
  • Coordinated activity: connected or suspicious wallet groups, potentially artificial trading, or severe sell-side activity may make market demand misleading.
  • Exit restrictions or dangerous behavior: a token may restrict selling, exhibit trading-trap or honeypot behavior, or have other material safety findings.

These are possible findings, not a checklist of checks that every token has passed. Use the actual reason shown in the card rather than assuming a warning applies to every token.

Can I still buy a token with a warning?

Yes. You may acknowledge the displayed warning or uncertainty and continue with a buy attempt. If no risk acknowledgement is required, preparation starts directly. Once checks pass, Aethelix automatically requests approval from your connected wallet.

  1. 1
    Review the warning

Check the token, amount, quote preview, slippage, and fees, then choose Swap now. Read the risk card if one appears, including the explanation and any warning codes.

  2. 2
    Choose whether to continue

Choose Cancel or close the card to stop this attempt before swap preparation. Choose I Understand — Continue only if you accept the displayed risk or uncertainty.

  3. 3
    Wait for the wallet request

Aethelix refreshes the quote, prepares the transaction, and checks whether it can execute. When those checks pass, it requests approval in your connected wallet automatically. There is no separate Continue to wallet step.

  4. 4
    Approve in your wallet

Review the wallet’s transaction preview, token amounts, total SOL change, and any wallet warnings before choosing Confirm or Cancel. Account creation or route funding may require additional SOL beyond the swap amount and network fee. Acknowledging an Aethelix risk warning does not sign a transaction or transfer funds.

Continuing does not override token controls or guarantee execution. A swap may still fail because of buying or selling restrictions, insufficient funds, missing liquidity or routes, an expired quote, transaction checks, or network problems.

Can I sell or exit a warned token?

The risk acknowledgement step applies to buys. Aethelix does not require this acknowledgement for a sell or exit attempt. After preparation and checks pass, it automatically requests approval in your external wallet, where you can confirm or cancel.

An exit is not guaranteed. Token controls, frozen accounts, selling restrictions, insufficient liquidity, unavailable routes, or transaction and network failures can prevent a sale. Aethelix cannot remove restrictions imposed by the token itself.

What does Don’t show this warning again do?

The grey Don’t show this warning again option is off by default. Select it if you want Aethelix to remember this warning, then choose I Understand — Continue. Selecting the option alone, cancelling, or closing the card does not save your choice.

The preference applies to the same token and unchanged warning for your current account and wallet on this browser. It is not a preference for all tokens and does not carry over to another browser or device. Clearing browser site data removes it.

A new or changed warning requires another review, including changes to the reason or whether risk information is current, outdated, or unavailable. You may also be asked to review again when another acknowledgement is required.

Aethelix continues checking current risk information. Remembering a warning does not mark the token as safe, skip swap checks, or remove your external wallet’s transaction approval.

If something looks wrong

A risk warning and a technical error are different. A displayed warning can be acknowledged; a failed risk review or swap preparation may need to be retried before you can proceed. Read the status shown in transaction details.

For an unexpected warning or a failed swap, open More → Help → Report a problem. On small screens, use the three-dot menu. Include the token address, warning or error text, approximate time, and a screenshot if useful. Never send wallet secrets.
